D`s Family Restaurant in Alma

My family went here on labor day for lunch for the first time. The theme is like an old country restaurant the food is like the older style sonthern cooking. I enjoyed the food they offer breakfast all day which is a plus. They also have a menu option or a buffet option which makes it really nice. If you are going to go eat at D's I suggest going to the Alma one over the Van Buren one because of the buffet. The offer a salad bar and food bar and a soup bar which is amazing. They also have cakes, cookies, ice cream, and cobblers but my favorite was bread pudding with ice cream on top.

Awesome All you can Eat Seafood Buffet on Saturday Night at a decent price. They also had for an extra $5.00 All you can eat: Frog Legs, Peel & Eat Shrimp & Bacon Covered Scallops.I chose not to get the extra because the buffet was plenty. Tons of choices with shrimp dishes, gumbo, veggies, chicken, clam strips, fish as well as a large salad bar. Only thing I thought was pricey were the Drinks.I think 2.79 is too much for 1 soda or tea when the buffet is $12.00. Next time, I'll order water & save that cost but I will definitely go back.I saw that they have Prime Rib on Friday nights, so I'll have to try that as well.

Waitress didn't refill our drinks. I had to ask for the hot dinner rolls they aren't on the buffett. Only 2 deserts on buffet. Waitress set my water glass down somewhere and lost it. When she saw me looking at her she remembered I had asked for a water refill she got me a new glass. Poor service, not a good selection of food. Won't return.

Great food, first two times. Third time, 6/29/19, hubs and I both got food poisoning after eating chicken fry steak dinner.. I noticed there aren't any pictures of that miserable meal. Clean restrooms, friendly service. Good luck!

Breakfast was really good. Service super friendly makes you feel like home. Highly recommend this place.

Didnt get my food the way I ordered it. Ordered toast, didnt recieve it. Eggs wasnt done right 1st time and 2and time, they was greasy. Waitress wasnt very friendly and couldn't remember what we all had. Will not go back.

We went during their lunch buffet. Waitress was very good. Atmosphere was very good! My wife and I both ate off their buffet and it was better than expected for sure! The buffet had a variety of different foods and everything that I ate was pretty good! I had Fish, Shrimp, Roast Beef, Gumbo, and a variety of sides to go with it! It was our first trip there to eat but it definitely won't be our last. It was the first of many trips! Our Pastor has highly recommended their breakfast buffet as well! I look forward to trying it soon!!

Always friendly and food is decently priced

Great food on the buffet. It tasted like home cooking. Our waitress Tanya was awesome!! She was very friendly and very efficient during a busy Sunday lunch time. We enjoyed our time together and would recommend to everyone!

Good food and service. Friendly staff most of the time. I would give 5 stars but I have seen one of the main servers treat some customers a bit rude. Update: that server is no longer there. Good job D’s! They definitely have the absolute best burger in Alma!!! They put Butcher Boys (Alma location) under the table!! They also have awesome fried catfish!

My husband and I took our 4 kids here after church today. The staff is absolutely amazing! They are all kind and polite. We had the buffet and it was great! I have a shellfish allergy but they cook all there seafood separate so I was able to eat too! It was great!

You have to go to D's Restaurant in Alma. The food is great! Even the salad was good. (Buffet) The only negative comment I can say is the fried chicken breast was dry. The price for the buffet was reasonable. Worth the time and money.

This place is honestly super great to be for local breakfats, lunch, & dinner. Staff are alp super friendly & will tend to all your needs. Truckers & those on trips can stop here as well for the next door hotel for great nights sleep as well!

Wouldn’t know how the fish tastes since I couldn’t even get my order taken,sad thing is we were the only ones even sitting in the front section and just a few tables in the back so I would hate to see the service when their busy!? My Tip to the servers: when you need to be taking orders or serving customers,don’t stand there with the other servers(not working) gossiping!? Jus sayin aint nobody got time for that!🙄

Fabulous ribs! The best! We were passing through on our way to Kansas and "just happened" to come by. Super good buffet! Great prices for what we got.

Absolutely phenomenal! Massive half pound Burgers! Delicious! best burger I've had all year! Vegan friendly with an expansive salad and fruit bar. Gravy is delicious, fries are hot tye onion rings were perfect. Buffet option as well as a menu. Fresh cakes and pies were available. Large Portion sizes Awesome awesome food!! Would recommend everyone Go to D's and order off the menu you'll have a grand ol' time!!

You can tell the cooks care about the food they serve. I've eaten here many times and not once have I gotten a dirty plate nor a bad order. The waitresses are all super nice, but the one with green hair is the friendliest. The food tastes amazing and I wouldn't be surprised if all the food was hand made! Chicken bacon ranch omelet is fire💥

my bf favorite place for the past 3 years since i took him for our 6 month date. its insaly good and we drive over 30 mins to come here. the waiter is super nice and loves to be very helpful we always leave with a smile after we eat

It's a quiet, friendly, down home kinda family restaurant or if you just want to read the paper while drinking coffee. Food is always good, never had a waitress that didn't surpass expectations. They serve breakfast off the menu all day and it's just always an enjoyable experience.

Meat on food bar was very tough. Shrimp had no flavor. Spaghetti was85% sauce. Cabbage was tough

Food was horrible and waitest never came back to check on us or give us our ticket. We have tired it many times and never been impressed.

Food wasn't that great poor service and rude people. I will never come here again.

Food was DELICIOUS, and the waitress attentive. They do a very good job on the breakfast buffet. Liked the small restaurant atmosphere.

Went for prime rib night. Very good price for a very decent piece of meat. Also had some items off the buffet. Some are excellent like the fried chicken. Some not so much. But overall great experience at a great price. You will leave full and not broke.

Luck of the draw. Googled for a place to eat in Alma on our way through and stopped in. I was very impressed. The waitresses were super friendly and the food bar was fresh and good! I'm already planning a trip back just to eat. The salad wasn't wilted it was crisp fresh and clean. The fried fish, shrimp and ribs were amazing! I didn't even need to use any ketchup or sauces for the meat. Very very good! The vegetable trays were really good too. Definitely worth you stop!
